Art Deco Zircon Solitaire Ring 18 Karat

A fabulous large emerald cut zircon solitaire ring set in 18k white gold. The rings stone has been recently re-polished by Mitaine and looks fabulous and is now in perfect refurbished condition. The zircon is stunning and very large for a zircon. Zircons are a misunderstood gemstone and are not to be confused with man made cubic zirconias, the only similarity between the two is that they both contain in their make up zirconium, but this is a natural stone with great fire that few natural gems display to a marked degree, but the fire in zircon comes close to that of a diamond. One discovered was created 4.4 billion years ago, so one of the oldest gems, many are 500million years old from Sri Lanka. Historically Zircons were often used in art deco jewellery.
